Jhye Richardson will replace Josh Hazlewood in Australia's XI for the second Test of the Ashes series against England in the home side's only change.
The day-night Test will be the second Ashes encounter to be played with a pink ball following a match at the same venue in Australia's last home series.
Hazlewood, who has been a mainstay of Australia's pace bowling arsenal, was on the money in Brisbane, but failed to bowl on the afternoon of Day 3.
He returned to the bowling crease the following morning, getting through six overs with the new ball, but then flew home to Sydney following the Test.
The New South Wales quick was then ruled out of the Test, with Australia today settling on Richardson to replace Hazlewood in Adelaide.
Hazlewod may still yet miss the Boxing Day Test following this match in Adelaide, with a call on his fitness to be made following the conclusion of the match in Adelaide.
Cricket Australia confirmed he has sustained a side strain, although it has been described as minor.
David Warner was the other player under a cloud fitness wise, but will play the second Test in Adelaide, having been declared fit by the selectors and medical staff.
It's understood Warner had a net session on Tuesday afternoon to pass fitness after suffering bruised ribs during the first innings of the Brisbane Test.
It means Usman Khawaja, who was on standby for Warner, will miss out in Adelaide with Australia only opting for a single change.
