Melbourne City's Connor Chapman has been ruled out for up to three months after suffering a tear to the MCL of his left knee.

Chapman suffered the injury during a collision in Sunday's 4-0 win over Newcastle.

He was substituted shortly after the incident, with scans later confirming a tear in his left MCL.

However, it is somewhat positive news for Chapman, who luckily avoided a more serious diagnosis and prolonged time on the sidelines.
