Italian club Lazio is reportedly interested in making a move for controversial striker Mario Balotelli.

The Italian was badly out of form last season, scoring just four goals from a total of 28 appearances for the Reds and struggled to even earn a spot on the bench in the second half of the season.

Lazio are believed to be willing to sign Balotelli on loan this season, with the view of making the move permanent for £12.5m.

However, the deal all come undone if Lazio do not qualify for the group stage of Champions League. Lazio are set to play in the qualification stages for the tournament and are keen to sign Balotelli for extra man power if they get through the qualifying rounds.
