David Reynolds made a magnificent comeback in race 18 of the 2017 Supercars Championship at the Sydney Motorsport Park Circuit this afternoon when he secured yet another top ten finish.
Despite the fact that David didn't get the start he had hoped for after qualifying down in 12th place for the 200km race, his talent of being quick off the line, saw him make up two spots on the opening lap.
Unfortunately, he had a moment at turn 9, giving him a puncture of the right-front tyre. This saw an unscheduled pit stop that left him at the rear of the field. From here he had a further two stops and then a late charge to the checkered flag saw him cross the line in 9th place.
“Overall, I'm pretty happy about today; going from blue flags which generally means your day is over, to be able to get a good result and finish ninth,” he said. “I had really good pace from the car, really good strategy and good stops from the boys, so I couldn't really ask for anything more. I actually did the damage to the tyre, I dropped a wheel off and it popped when I re-joined the track, so I'm a little disappointed in myself, but it was a surprisingly good day.”
