Australian T20 captain Aaron Finch has revealed he will move back to the top of the batting order for the final two matches against England in Canberra.
Finch shifted to number four ahead of last week's series against the West Indies, playing there in both games, as well as in Perth during the first match against England on Sunday evening.
The captain, who has had better form in the shortest format of the game than he did in the 50-over variation, which he retired from after recent series against Zimbabwe and New Zealand to kick off the summer, has scored 58, 15 and 12 in his three games at number four.
Cameron Green has remained at the top of the order during the three matches after impressing as a fill in for David Warner during the series away from home against India in mid-September.
Despite that, Finch told reporters after last night's game in Perth that he will now move back to the top of the order in what could be Australia's first hit out with it's World Cup playing 11.
"I'll go back to the top next game, which was always the plan," Finch said.
"It was just about giving Greeny more opportunity at the top and trying things ... in case he had to be called into the (World Cup) squad."
Green is not part of the World Cup squad, but would likely have been the first player called in if injuries persisted to either Marcus Stoinis or Mitchell Marsh.
Green had strong returns during the Indian series, but has only scored 14, 1 and 1 in the three games played at home.
Australia will play England in Canberra on Wednesday and Friday in what is their final tune up for the World Cup.
