After just one season in Formula 1, Renault's Team Principal, Frederic Vasseur, has called time on his tenure with immediate effect.

Vassuer, who successfully led Art GP to multiple GP2 and 3 titles before making the step up to F1 for the 2016 Championship season, is said to have left on good terms and by mutual agreement.

A statement from the French based squad states that they are committed to maintaining a good relationship and working together in a new direction in the future.

News on what direction the team will take from here will be announced when they present their new challenger in February. Until then the teams management will continue to be led by Chairman Jérôme Stoll and CEO Cyril Abiteboul.
