Dominic Thiem has defeated Novak Djokovic for the first time to advance to the semi-final at Roland Garros.

The young Austrian was exquisite, as he dismantled the former world No.1 with an incredible display of hitting.

Thiem advance 7-6, 6-3, 6-0 to record his first ever win over a top-10 ranked player at a grand slam. It was the first time Djokovic has lost a set 6-0 at a grand slam since the 2005 US Open. Thiem will now face nine-time French Open champion, Rafael Nadal.

Nadal won through against Pablo Carreno, after the winning the first set 6-2, before Carreno retired hurt.

On the other side of the draw, Andy Murray and Stan Wawrinka will face off for a place in the final.

Wawrinka defeated Marin Cilic 6-3, 6-3, 6-1, while Murray defeated Kei Nishikori 2-6, 6-2, 7-6, 6-1.
