Week six of the NBL was jam-packed with close games and dominant performances. The game of the season was played between two top teams, while we saw four games finish with a victory of one point. It all kicked off on Wednesday Night for an Ignite Cup game between the Perth Wildcats and the Cairns Taipans.

Perth handled business, securing a 32-point victory on the road. MVP Candidate Jo Lual-Acuil Jr led the way for Perth as he put in 24 points to go along with his three blocks on the defensive end in only 20 minutes.

Kristian Doolittle added 18 points and eight rebounds, while Eljiah Pepper had his best game off the bench as he scored 18 as well.

Thursday Night saw a double header that began with a narrow victory for the Brisbane Bulletts against the New Zealand Breakers. This game was a tale of two halves as the Breakers led by 18 at halftime, but then Brisbane fought back to secure the win.

Casey Prather was elite once again for the Bulletts as he put up 23 points and 12 rebounds; veteran Lamar Patterson also contributed 20 points of his own. Sam Mennenga was best for the Breakers, scoring 27 points.

South East Melbourne Phoenix destroyed the Sydney Kings in the second game of the night as they won by 17 points at home. Nathan Sobey was unstoppable as he scored 33 points, including six threes.

Young Gun Owen Foxwell also added 17 points and eight assists, while Kendric Davis led the way for the Kings, as he added 31 points to his season tally.

Ladder leaders Melbourne United had their Round 6 opener against the Cairns Taipans on the road. United moved to 8-0 with their 27-point victory. This was another team performance by United as five players scored double digits, Chris Goulding leading the way with 14 points.

Saturday Night's double header started with the Phoenix putting together another dominant performance as they won by 23 points against the Bulletts. Once again, Nathan Sobey was the top scorer as he put up 29 points.

We saw a much closer game to end the night, as the Illawarra Hawks defeated the Perth Wildcats by one point. Perth had no answer for star Javale McGee as he put in 24 points with 11 rebounds.

His running mate, Tyler Harvey, was also huge for them as he added his own 24 points with eight assists. This was a much-needed victory for the defending champs, as that was just their second win of the season.

The week closed out with two amazing battles, both games ending in close fashion. It all started with the game of the year so far as Melbourne United moved to 9-0 with a victory over the Adelaide 36ers by one point.

Jesse Edwards was best for United as he had 25 points on 10/10 shooting with his seven rebounds. Chris Goulding added 14 points off the bench, while guard Tyson Walker was the player who hit the big go-ahead three to win the game with a second to go.

Zylan Cheatham was amazing for the 36ers as he had a near triple-double with 21 points, 12 rebounds and nine assists. Isaac Humphries had 18 points while star Bryce Cotton added 22 points.

In the second game, we saw the JackJumpers secure a one-point victory against the Sydney Kings, as Nick Marshall scored a fastbreak layup to win the game on the buzzer.

Duo Josh Bannan and Bryce Hamilton led the way as they both put in 18 points. Kendic Davis and Jaylin Galloway were Sydney's best as they combined for 40 points.

Week 7 will all kick off on Wednesday Night with another Ignite Cup game as the Perth Wildcats will travel to take on the JackJumpers.
