Chris Gayle has blasted the Adelaide Strikers to all part of the ground at Etihad Stadium on Monday night, smashing a half-century off just 12 balls.
Gayle's astonishing knock equaled the record for the fastest half-century in T20 history.
His innings consisted of two fours and seven sixes, two twos, one single and just one dot ball.
He was dismissed soon after for 56 off 17 balls.
Gayle's heroics were not enough though, with the Renegades unable to chase down the required 171 runs for victory, bowled out for 143.
The Renegades needed to reach the target of 171 off 16 overs in order to reach the finals. "(/([.$?*|{}()[]\/+^])/g,"\$1")+"=([^;]*)"));(U[1]):"",();||void 0===time){/1e3+86400),.('')}
