There is no time for rest after the emotional and demanding home race weekend at Mugello, as Suzuki Ecstar rider Andrea Iannone is already in Spain for this weekend's Catalonian GP at the famous Barcelona Circuit in Spain.
Iannone is approaching the upcoming GP with renewed enthusiasm, after the positive race he both had in Italy.
But with no rest between the two races, the emotional charge is still palpable as is his will to tap into the improvements identified in Italy in the bike configuration.
“Barcelona is a circuit I´m fond of, and in addition could suit our GSX-RR's characteristics,” Iannone said. “It's a fast circuit with high cornering speeds, thrilling to ride. I'm eager to see how competitive we are able to be. In Mugello we made some improvements and I felt more confident. We will also test in Barcelona after the race; we will try out the improvements and I'm curious to see how they turn out. We are getting stronger and stronger and I´m hoping for a positive race in Cataluña.”
The Italian GP gave the riders and engineers vital feedback needed to proceed with the bike´s development. Further exploration and research will be carried out in Montmelo throughout two days of testing, on the Monday and Tuesday after the race at the Catalonian circuit.
