Just days after securing the signing of Socceroo Rhys Williams, Perth Glory are reportedly in discussions with Chris Herd about a return home.
The World Game has reported that Herd's father and former Scottish professional player Willie Herd, says his son has been in talks with the Glory.
“It's about assessing which way to go. Perth is certainly a possibility and there have been some talks but he's just going to see what happens over the next few weeks," he said.
Taggart has made 22 appearances for struggling League One side, Chesterfield, but his future beyond this season is uncertain.
He played 42 matches for Aston Villa across six seasons, before being released at the end of last season, but was plagued by injury throughout his career in the EPL.
The 27-year-old has been capped four times by the Socceroos.
