Seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton crashed his car on the second day of private testing with Ferrari at Barcelona's Circuit de Catalunya on Wednesday.
A source told AFP that Hamilton was "absolutely okay," with the car sustaining the only damage.
This marks the second week of the 40-year-old driver's two-year contract with Ferrari, a move that took fans by surprise when it was announced last year, following his 12-season tenure with Mercedes.
On Thursday, Lewis took to Instagram to put any rumours of injury to rest, sharing photos of himself clad in Ferrari red with the caption: "First race can't come soon enough."
Social media users were quick to highlight that this isn't the first time Hamilton has had a pre-season crash, only to go on and win the title the following year - having done so with McLaren in 2008 and Mercedes in 2013.
In preparation for the Australian Grand Prix, which kicks off the season in March, Hamilton teamed up with his Ferrari driving partner, Charles Leclerc, for the first time last week in Italy.
While the car Hamilton crashed was the 2023 model, Ferrari will unveil their new car on February 19 at Fiorano, just a day after the F1 season launch event in London to celebrate the sport's 75th anniversary.
