On a beautiful sunny Thursday morning, Lewis Hamilton topped the times around the streets of Monaco, setting a blistering pace of 1:13.425 that shattered all the existing records.
The Mercedes driver finished .196 faster than the Ferrari of Sebastian Vettel in what was a basically incident free session. Max Verstappen, who finished third fastest overall, had an early issue that required his Red Bull mechanics to change the floor in his 2017 contender, however when he returned to the track his time was just .346 behind Hamilton.
Valtteri Bottas finished fourth overall with the second Red Bull of Daniel Ricciardo rounding out the top five.
All times were set on the purple striped Ultra soft rubber apart from the two Toro Rosso's who were on the supersoft.
