South Australian batsman Travis Head was last night named the Sheffield Shield player of the year.

Head belted 699 runs this season, at an average of 38.83, with three centuries and one half century.

NSW Blues top order batsman Nick Larkin was named the Futures League Player of the Year, while umpire Simon Fry was named Cricket Australia Umpire of the Year for a third successive season.
