Lleyton Hewitt's final Australian Open campaign is not over yet after a thrilling doubles win on Saturday with fellow Australian Sam Groth.

The pair defeated John Peers, also from Australia, and Henri Kontinen 2-6, 6-4, 6-4 to advance to the third round, in front of a vocal Aussie crowd at Hisense Arena, with the fans willing Hewitt and Groth to the line, continuing the career of the legendary Australian for at least one more match.

Hewitt and Groth will now face No.9 seeds Vasek Pospisil and Jack Sock.
