DJR Team Penske driver Scott McLaughlin put in another dominant performance in race 8, the second race of the perth Supersprint weekend at the barbagello Raceway on Sunday afternoon.
The young Kiwi secured the tenth win of his Supercar career and the second win of the weekend, making it a double for the DJR Team Penske outfit, all in front of their American boss, Roger Penske.
Scotty was the dominant force all day, starting by taking pole position in a new lap record time.
He then led the race from start to finish, only dropping back when pitting but always remained the effective leader throughout.
He took the victory by 4.6s, fully able to control the gap back to 2nd place winner, Supercheap Auto driver Chaz Mostert.
“I came into this weekend with a plan to take as many points off the leaders as possible, and it's been a perfect weekend in that aspect,” Scott said. “Two wins and a pole is amazing, especially with Roger here at the track as well. I feel like I've kicked off my year now, with two wins under the belt and great pace, we've got plenty to look forward to for the rest of the year.”
