Lionel Messi has announced his retirement from international football following Argentina's loss to Chile in the Copa America final.
After scores were tied at 0-0 after regulation time and extra time, Chile won 4-2 on penalties. Messi missed his side's openign penalty, hitting it well over the crossbar.
"The national team is over for me. It's not for me after four finals. The decision is taken, I believe, "Messi said after the match.
"I thought about it in the locker room, I'm done with the national team."
Messi, 29, has played 112 times, netting 55 goals.
