Not long before the summer break, Gene Haas announced that the American based squad would be retaining the same driver line up of Romain Grosjean and Kevin Magnussen, something that wasn't a surprise to Grosjean at all….

“I've known this since September 2015! So I would call it a normal continuation. And things are great,” he told the sports official website.

However, despite this strong commitment to the All American Formula One team, Romain did reveal that he did have the chance to go elsewhere but for him, the desire to help HaasF1 grow even bigger and better outweighed the possibility of moving to another team.

Even though he refused to comment on just which team was interested in his services, he did reveal that one can never predict what will happen in the future, as Valtteri Bottas' signing with Mercedes this year proved…

“Life can be full of surprises. Take Valtteri (Bottas) and how his fate changed from the 1st to the 7th of December last year. Things like that do happen. Right now I am part of a great project. I am very proud of what we have done together – and we want to become better, of course.”
