Former Perth Glory striker Jamie Maclaren will attract heavy interest from across the A-League and abroad after securing an early release from his contract.

The Glory granted Maclaren an early release following the salary cap scandal that rocked the club last season.

The 21-year-old joins a host of departures at the club following Perth's ban from last season's finals series.

"I would like to thank the club and all the fans and members for their support over the past two years. I have many fond memories of WA and have enjoyed my time here," Maclaren said in a statement released late on Monday.

Melbourne City and Melbourne Victory have been linked to the highly rated goal sneak, after he was born and raised in Victoria.

Maclaren scored nine goals in 20 appearances for Perth last season.
