The Central Coast Mariners have signed two NPL players as Tony Walmsley looks to oversee an improved second half to the season.

Midfielder Franceso Stella and goalkeeper Alatsair Bray join the side for at least the remainder of the season.

Stella, 24, joins the Mariners from Avondale FC and experienced a short stint in the A-League with Melbourne Victory in the 2012/13 season, when he made seven appearances.

“I've been here training since the start of November and with the window opening it's finally official,” Stella said of joining the Mariners.

“It was good to get to know the boys and build on my fitness and I can't wait to get stuck in. I want to prove to myself that this is the level I deserve to be playing at."

Bray, 22, is a former the player of the year winner for Melbourne Heart's National Youth League side and has been signed to add depth to the Mariners' goalkeeping stocks, with Paul Izzo on Olyroo duty.

“It's a great honour to play at a Club like this, they've obviously got a rich history and I'm really excited to get started,” Bray said.

“I'm really loving it here, I'm working hard every day at training to try and prove that I'm ready to go and hopefully I can get selected, I'm buzzing to get started."
