Repsol Honda rider Marc Marquez threw away a certain victory in Sunday's Argentine GP, when he became one of seven different riders to crash of the race.
The reigning world champion fell in turn 2 on the fourth lap while leading by two seconds over fellow Honda rider Cal Crutchlow, who finished in a positive third position. At the time of his crash, Marquez was pushing hard to try and pull a gap on the chasing group.
Fortunately, he escaped unharmed and is now looking forward to the next round in Austin (Texas, USA) in two weeks' time.
โI was feeling really good on the bike. I was able to ride strong, as we made a great improvement to the setup in the warm-up, which made me feel pretty comfortable on my bike,โ he said. โThe crash was unexpected; I must have made a small mistake, and it cost me a lot. Luckily I'm okay, but these kinds of mistakes disappoint me, as everything was going well. Anyway, we must put this behind us and think of the next race in Austin.โ
