Matt Ryan has created history winning both the PFA Footballer of the Year and the Harry Kewell Medal for the 2014/15 season.

It the third time Ryan has won the Harry Kewell Medal, which is awarded to the most outstanding Australian footballer under the age of 23.

However, Ryan was named the Professional Footballers Australia (PFA) Footballer of the Year for the first time, after a brilliant season for both the Socceroos and Brugge, where he was named the Belgium Pro League Goalkeeper of the Year, before he made the switch to Spanish side, Valencia.

โ€œThis caps off the past 12 months and what a 12 months it has been,โ€ said Ryan.

โ€œTo receive an award like this, which is voted by your colleagues is very humbling.

โ€œYou play football to represent your country at the highest level. The moment when Mile lifted the Asian Cup was very close to the best moment in my career.

โ€œI am eager to do everything I can to be successful with the Socceroos and Valencia.

โ€œI would like to thank all of the PFA's members who voted for me.โ€
