Supercheap Auto racer Chaz Mostert is confident his Prodrive Racing squad can continue their strong form at the Ipswich SuperSprint after a promising weekend in Townsville three weeks ago.
Mostert, a local of the area, describes the venue as his home track and the Queensland Raceway was actually the scene of his maiden victory in 2013.
The Queenslander says that despite its uncharismatic layout, the circuit known as the Paperclip can produce some good racing and he can't wait to get out on track this Friday.
"I really like going to Ipswich. It's a home hunting ground for me and I've had a bit of success there with a win in my first year in the main series,” he said. “I'm looking forward to getting back there. It's a bit of an easy layout track but it really creates great racing.”
“In three corners of the track you can generally run side-by-side with another car. I'm looking forward to the battle out there and fingers crossed we can go out and have another consistent run at it and be around the top five.”
