Six-time NBL MVP Bryce Cotton will finally put on the green and gold in the FIBA World Cup qualifiers in Perth, after gaining Australian Citizenship in 2025.

The long-awaited debut for the Boomers will be in July against the Philippines and Guam, whom the Boomers should be able to handle in the qualifiers.

"Representing the Australian Men's national Basketball team for the first time is something I don't take lightly," Cotton said.

At age 33, Cotton just had one of his best seasons in the NBL for the Adelaide 36ers as he won another MVP but fell just short of winning another championship. He now sets his sights on playing for the Boomers.

"Australia has embraced me from day one, and I'm grateful for the chance to wear the green and gold alongside a great group of guys."

"I'm excited, motivated, and ready to give everything I have for the country."

This moment is exciting for fans and Cotton himself, as it might be the start of a great partnership together.

Cotton is set to be 35 for the next Olympics, but fans are excited to see him on the roster if still going at this remarkable rate by then.
