Patriots get the star receiver they needed

New England Patriots get: AJ Brown (WR)
Philadelphia Eagles get:2027 fifth-round pick, 2028 first-round pick

It's been mooted for months, and the Patriots finally get the man to take their offense to another level. AJ Brown reunites with his former Tennessee Titans head coach, Mike Vrabel, in Massachusetts, giving Drake Maye a formidable one-two punch alongside free agent signing Romeo Doubs on the other side.

Brown leaves Philadelphia with the two highest single-season receiving yard totals in franchise history: 1,496 yards in 2022 and 1,456 in 2023. The Eagles, though, have been planning for Brown's departure for months, trading up in the first round of this year's NFL Draft for Makai Lemon (WR - USC), while also trading for Packers receiver Dontayvion Wicks, and signing Hollywood Brown and Elijah Moore as free agents.

LA Rams get: Myles Garrett (Edge)
Cleveland Browns get: Jared Verse (Edge), 2027 first-round pick, 2028 second-round pick, 2029 third-round pick

His football resume is stacked: First overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft. 2x NFL Defensive Player of the Year. 5x All-Pro. 7x Pro Bowl. He holds the NFL records for most sacks in a single season (23) AND the most seasons with 12 or more sacks (6). What Myles Garrett doesn't have is a Super Bowl ring.

Yet. His chance is coming, with a trade to the Super Bowl favourite LA Rams.

It really was a win-win trade for both sides, with the Cleveland Browns receiving powerful up-and-coming edge rusher Jared Verse in return, plus three valuable draft picks added to the stockpile.
