Olyroos coach Aurelio Vidmar has not has his contract renewed by the FFA after five years in charge of the under 23s national side.
A second Olympic Games qualifying failure in a row was the final nail in the coffin for Vidmar, who did not oversee a successful stint as head coach.
“As a former Socceroo champion and professional in Europe and Asia, Aurelio brought a wealth of experience to the coaching roles he performed,” FFA chief executive David Gallop said.
“Viddie was a committed member of the coaching staff and made a key contribution to the development of many young players.
“His role with the Socceroos' campaigns for 2014 World Cup and 2015 Asian Cup was highly regarded. I wish him well on the next stage of his journey in football.”
No replacement has been named thus far.
