Australia's wicket-keeper Alyssa Healy has spoken about the impact Rachael Haynes' retirement and Meg Lanning's break have had on her recently.
Speaking to the AAP, she admitted their withdrawals had her considering her future.
"Meg taking a break and Rach retiring, it hit me like a tonne of bricks," Healy said.
"It made me sit back and think about what I've been doing and what it looks like for me.
"The beauty is I still really love the game and love being involved at the moment.ย I'm just going to just keep plugging along and doing what I'm doing and continue to enjoy it."
Healy has an excellent chance of being named captain for Australia should Meg Lanning continue her hiatus beyond our scheduled tests in India this December, and it's new opportunities like that which keep her going.
