David Reynolds is heading into the next round of the Supercars Championship, to be held at the Townsville Street Circuit this coming weekend, aiming to carry on the momentum from a very promising start to the year.
In the first 12 races of the 2017 season, 6 rounds, David has finished eight of them inside the top ten, including a podium finish, and the plan is to continue making big strides fir the remainder of the season, starting this coming weekend.
In the previous round, held at Darwin's Hidden valley racetrack, Reynolds finished fourth in both qually rounds, an improvement on earlier rounds. David always said that qualifying was their weak point, so hopefully now they continue with top five grid positions this coming weekend.
“You aim to win every race, but considering where we were at the start of last year, we have taken a massive step to where we are now,” he said. “It's definitely ahead of where I thought we would be at this point. Qualifying is everything in our sport and we've had a good race car but we haven't been able to qualify well. It's something we have been targeting for a while and although you can never be sure of how you'll go on the day, it's good to know that you're going to be somewhere near the front.”
“I think we should have a strong weekend again; if we can tick the box and qualify on the front row, we give ourselves the best chance to win races,” he said. “The team are doing a fantastic job and we are all working to that one goal; hopefully it comes sooner rather than later. We are a very small team compared to the larger teams, and it might take us a little bit longer to get there, but we will get there. There is no reason we can't get a good result, it's just a matter of getting everything right on the day.”
