According to reports on Autosport, 2016 Formula One World Champion, Nico Rosberg, who retired from the sport the week after claiming his one and only world crown last November, is taking on a role of a different nature, that being to assist former racer Robert Kubica make his return to the sport.

Rosberg, who is currently an Ambassador for Mercedes, has known Kubica since they raced in karts, much the same as former teammate, Lewis Hamilton, and would dearly love to put his weight behind the Polish racer, who suffered severe injuries in a rally crash in 2011 that killed his F1 career and almost took his life.

"It's fantastic to be working on this with Nico,” Kubica told Autosport. “We've known each other since we were kids and he is, and will be, a great asset in my F1 comeback."

Now fully recovered and raring to go racing once again, Kubica has had several tests with Renault this season, however the possibility of a full time drive in 2018 with a top team is extremely slim to none.
