Greek international Georgios Samaras has been linked with a possible move to A-League club Melbourne City.

Samaras' contract with West Bronwich Albion was recently terminated by mutual consent and the Greek striker is now looking for a new club.

The 30-year-old struggled for game time at West Brown, after moving from Scottish club Celtic, where he enjoyed a successful six year stint, making 243 appearances and scoring 71 goals.

He has also had stints at Heerenveen, Manchester City and Al Hilal.
