Stunning Pakistan collapse hands Blackcaps victory in second Test

New Zealand have claimed their first Test series win over Pakistan since 1985, thanks to an astonishing collapse in Hamilton on Tuesday.

The Blackcaps set Pakistan 369 to win on the final day's play, with the tourists looking set to at least avoid defeat, sitting pretty at 1-158 at tea on day five.

However, Pakistan suffered a simply horrendous collapse, losing 9-72 in the final session to hand New Zealand an unlikely 138-run victory.

Tim Southee was named man of the match, finishing with eight wickets and figures of 6-80 in the second innings.

There were four ducks among the Pakistani's final six batsmen, as they lost their last five wickets for just 12 runs.

As a result of the defeat, Pakistan has dropped from second in the Test rankings, to fourth. Meanwhile New Zealand has climbed from seventh to sixth.
