Sydney FC have further bolstered their attacking stocks, signing Academy talent Tiago Quintal on a three-year contract.

The new contract is Quintal's first A-League professional contract and will see him promoted from a train-on player to the professional roster.

Quintal, 17, has been with the club since the age of 11 and will remain there until the conclusion of the 2026-2027 A-League season.

“It is a dream and something I have been working towards since I was 11 years old on joining the Academy,” he said in a statement.

“I want to play as much as I can, get as much game time and showcase my ability on the field and help the team win and perform.”

“The step up so far has been good,”

“Being able to learn from players in my position who are experienced such as Joe Lolley and Anthony Caceres is going to help me with my development.”

Hailing from Baulkham Hills and idolizing Eden Hazard growing up, the youngster plays in the number 10 position and is known for his creativity and playmaking ability in the attacking position on the field.

Along with earning his first professional contract, he has also represented the U17s Australian team (Joey's) where he has been a revelation and played against some of the best countries in the world.

“Tiago is a creative player. We think he is going to be one of those special players that can play between the lines," head coach Ufuk Talay added.

"He is a lefty and can play as a number nine or a number 10.

“He is very good in one v one situations and can score goals. For us, he is another quality player coming through the academy."
