It appears as if Toro Rosso has been summoned to explain why they believe that they do not need to fix a broken tether on Carlos Sainz's Formula One car.
According to reports on motorsport.com, Sainz's car failed FIA scrutineering on Thursday afternoon and the team was advised that they could not enter a car in unsafe condition.
Number 55 was said to have a damaged wheel tether and the team was asked to replace it. When the request was denied, the technical delegate checked it further and discovered that not only was the tether damaged, but there were several cut fibres that had been knotted together.
Therefore, the team is being accused of attempting to enter an unsafe car, and as such have been summoned to explain how and why this has occurred.
