While there might be a lot of suspected driver movements happening in the Formula One series right about now, there is one driver saying that fans can count him out of any such discussions as he is more than happy to remain right where he is.
Stoffel Vandoorne would not be blamed for wanting to jump the McLaren ship with all the engine problems the team has been forced to endure during his rookie season.
However, the young Belgian racer is more than happy with his position within the Woking based squad and have no plans of going anywhere anytime soon…
“I have a long-term contract with McLaren and thing are going well,” he told Motorsport.com. “I don't see any problems to be with the team next year. I want to be with McLaren and I am working very hard with the engineers and the team to build on the future. "
"Making that effort now is important because I really want us to prepare as well as possible for the moment when we are properly competitive and fighting there at the front.”
His teammate on the other hand, Fernando Alonso, has already stated that if the team is not winning by September this year, he will be moving on....
