It was reported in the German press over the British Grand Prix weekend that Sebastian Vettel was on the verge of signing a new multi-year deal with the Scuderia Ferrari team, however, he has put a clause into the new deal, that his current teammate, Kimi Raikkonen, remain with the Italian team for at least one more season.
It seems like a very odd request from the German champion, unless of course they work really well together behind closed doors.
That said however, there are no inter team fights between the two racers like Vettel used to endure with both Aussie drivers, Mark Webber and Daniel Ricciardo at Red Bull Racing.
Here's hoping that he doesn't want Kimi retained because he doesn't look at him as a threat to his title aspirations as the Finn has shown in several races this year that there is still a lot of fire left in his older engine...
