The third Test at the SCG between Australia and the West indies has inevitably ended in a draw after almost three whole days without play due to rain, handing Australia a 2-0 series win, ensuring the home side retained the Frank Worrell Trophy.
Players finally returned to the field on day five, with a ball not being bowled since day two of the match. The Windies resumed on 7-248 in their first innings, with a draw the the inevitable conclusion.
The visitors were eventually dismissed for 330 after some aggressive hitting from the tail.
Kraigg Brathwaite top scored with 85, while Carlos Brathwaite scored 69.
When Australia finally took to the crease for the first time, there were only just over 40 overs remaining in the match.
Dave Warner then then took the opportunity to practice his one-day batting, blasting 122 off just 103 balls, with 11 fours and two sixes. Warner's ton, which came off just 82 balls, was the fastest century ever recorded in an SCG Test.
Australia declared their innings on 2-176 off just 38 overs, with Burns (26) and Mitchell Marsh (21) the two men out.
