The Sauber F1 Team is as prepared as they can be for the 2017 season opening Australian Grand Prix in less than two weeks' time after working through a challenging last day of pre-season testing on the Circuit de Catalunya on Friday.

The Hinwil based squad was forced to change new driver, Pascal Wehrlein's planned programme at the last minute and had the German racer concentrating on extensive analysis of the Sauber C36-Ferrari and aero tests for the coming races.

He completed a total of 42 laps in the afternoon session and feels as if he has taken another important step forward in regard to his preparations for the season opener. He now can't wait for the first race with his new team....

“It was another important afternoon for me in the new C36 car – completing 42 laps overall,” he said. “We changed the programme and continued our extensive analysis of the Sauber C36-Ferrari by continuing with aero tests on soft and medium tyres. Nontheless I was able once again to take the next step forward to get more familiar with the new car. I can't wait for my first race for the Sauber F1 Team.”
