It was a very disappointing Saturday afternoon for the SauberF1 team at the Sochi Autodrom in Russia, when as hard as they tried, neither driver could get a decent lap together to make it out of Q1.
This is the first time this season that the team failed to get at least one car into Q2 with pascal Wehrlein and Marcus Ericsson qualifying 18th and 19th fastest respectively.
Pascal was very disappointed with the result and himself after making a small error, but the aim now is to do all he can to make up positions in this afternoon's 53 lap Russian Grand Prix.
“I can not be satisfied with this result. I made a mistake on my last lap in qualifying, which definitely cost time,” he explained. “Overall I am having difficulties with the balance of the car. Also, our topspeed on the straights is not good enough."
"The tyres behave differently compared to Bahrain, but this is the same for everyone else. Nevertheless, we will do our best for tomorrow's race.”
