Sometimes things are written on the internet that should just be deleted without even reading and the latest of these said ‘news stories' is that because Mercedes is not winning this season, they will be looking to pull out of the Formula One World Championship.
What a lot of absolute rubbish!
The same thing was said of Red Bull Racing when Mercedes stole the show after Vettel had dominated for four straight seasons and guess what? Red Bull Racing is still there and still going strong, even winning races and taking pole positions, so much for them quitting as it was highly written about at the time.
And now, Mercedes is the target with reports that Eddie Jordan, who should really know better, claiming that if they have to fight too hard in 17 and 18 the board will opt to sell the team and stay only as an engine supplier.
I repeat. What a load of rubbish!
Just because the boss of an F1 team doesn't deny a journalists train of thought, which in this case was Eddie Jordan speaking to Dr Zetsche about what he would do if he still had a team in the sport and was in the same boat and the Daimler boss didn't disagree, means jack s__t! Especially after a few too many wines were consumed in the Monaco party atmosphere.
Articles like this infuriate me as it puts a really bad spin on the sport. If you don't win, then quit! Simple! How would it be if everyone did that? Cant have f1 races with only one team can we? Oh and what about the little guys? The Sauber's? The Manor's The Minardi's? Why even bother turning up every weekend, they aren't going to win anyway, so what's the point in trying?
Ridiculous!
I am sorry Mr Wolff, sorry that you were forced to respond to these ridiculous allegations, to tell your millions of fans across the globe that there was absolutely no basis for these claims. I am sorry that they were even uttered in the first place, even though it is not me that should be apologizing, is it Mr Jordan?
