FIA President Jean Todt met with promoters of major FIA circuit championships at the Formula One Monaco Grand Prix on Saturday to discuss a greater partnership in regard to calendar planning in the future.
Todt was accompanied by the FIA's Secretary General for Sport, Peter Bayer as they welcomed Formula One's Managing Director of Motorsports Ross Brawn and Global Director, Promoter and Business Relations Chloe Targett-Adams, FIA World Endurance Championship CEO Gerard Neveu and Formula E Holdings CEO Alejandro Agag.
Following discussions of the current calendars the group agreed to work towards a better alignment of all motor sport championship schedules in the coming seasons.
“In close collaboration with its Promoters, the FIA has in recent years worked hard to build and consolidate a wide variety of championships that provide great entertainment for motor sport fans,” said Mr Todt. “As such, it is important that everyone involved in our championships works towards ensuring that fans have every opportunity to enjoy our championships to the full.”
“Today, in collaboration with our partners, we have begun the process of harmonising our sporting calendars and I look forward to continuing this effort as we define our championship schedules for next season and beyond.”
