Stoke City has finally landed its man, with Xherdan Shaqiri signing with the Premier League side for a club record transfer fee.

The Swiss midfielder joins the Potters for a £12 million fee from Italian side Inter Milan, who he only joined in January.

The club announced on Tuesday that he has signed a five year deal at the Britannia Stadium.

“He's a dynamic and explosive player who will bring something different to the group and at the age of 23 he still has a great deal of potential,” Stoke manager Mark Hughes told the club website.

“In the chats I've had with him, it's obvious that he's excited about playing in the Premier League and showing what he's capable of.”
