University of California coach Sonny Dykes says he has no doubt that Jarryd Hayne will cement a career in the NFL.

Currently resigned to the San Francisco 49ers practice squad, Hayne continues to take every challenge in his stride, declaring that despite the setback he has no interest in returning home to the NRL.

“I think with his athleticism, his size and strength and ability to translate from rugby (league) to American football, to be able to do that, to make up for the lack of experience you have to be an exceptional athlete and I think that's what he is,'' Dykes said.

“He's a guy who is big, fast and strong and he has learned quickly.

“He's one of those guys whose skills continue to develop and I think at some stage he'll end up making a big impact with an NFL team.''
